EVENT! Alaska’s owner Joan Pardes came to Alaska via New York City and Los Angeles where she worked in the entertainment industry in the promotion field. Her work in Alaska includes serving as the communications director for a statewide non-profit for 13 years along with working as a journalist and a stint as a radio talk show host.

Joan has planned events and coordinated public relations campaigns throughout The Last Frontier in both urban and rural areas.



A life long Alaskan and wood artist, EVENT! Alaska staffer Heather Dillon plans and coordinates events. When she’s not working, Heather can be found hunting Devil’s Club (an aptly named shrub), playing with electricity (she burns wood to create one-of-a-kind functional art pieces), making jewelry or something else creative.

In her tenure at EVENT! Alaska, Heather has worked on small private affairs and corporate events for 200 people.
