Created in 2016 to provide professional services to Alaska’s Capital City and beyond, EVENT! Alaska works with non-profits, government agencies, businesses, and individuals to create dynamic events and effective public relations campaigns.
Owned and operated by Joan Pardes, EVENT! Alaska provides services to The Last Frontier.
Joan’s professional background:
Event Planning in New York City, Los Angeles and Alaska
Communications Director for Statewide Non-Profit in Alaska
Talent Agent in New York and California
A born and bred New Yorker, Joan made her way to Alaska via Los Angeles where she worked as a talent agent for actors and writers. During her tenure in the entertainment business, Joan planned both large and small events to promote her clients and their projects. Once firmly planted in Alaska, Joan wrote tourism pieces for several magazines and websites along with working as a journalist for The Juneau Empire, a daily paper, before starting a thirteen-year gig with SERRC – Alaska’s Educational Resource Center.
As communications director for SERRC, a state-wide non-profit; Joan planned, coordinated and ran events for grants and programs throughout The Last Frontier. The scope of events ran from small meetings with participants from around the state, symposiums for more than 100 participants, events in restaurants and hotels, and trade shows with more than 50 vendors and 300+ attendees.
Whether your event hosts ten people from the same location or three hundred from across the globe, it has a specific goal and purpose. Joan excels at collaborating with clients to plan, create, and coordinate dynamic and successful events within budget.
